Zombie Detectives (09/02 – 09/08/19)

Sometimes, you just can’t. This week is one of those weeks.

Monday and Tuesday, I binged some YouTube before finally finishing this season of Explained. I continued to procrastinate on starting season 5 of The Walking Dead. My friend gave me a great idea for themed week that’ll be coming at ya towards the middle of this month.

On Friday, I learned something that made my week. iZOMBIE SEASON 5 JUST DROPPED ON NETFLIX. It’s a show about a zombie who’s a medical examiner in Seattle and eats the brains of murder victims to gain some of their memories and solve crimes. Yes, you read that right. It’s trash and I love it with all of my being. (I highly recommend this is you want something fun). The show does have a weird habit of comparing zombie-ism to actual marginalized groups and the prejudices they face, but I choose to ignore that because the show is cringey enough without unpacking that mess.

Even with working on Saturday, I managed to watch the whole season in a weekend, not really processing that it was the series finale until about halfway through the last episode. I’m gonna miss it 😦

I’m trying to finish the audiobook of It so that I can watch It: Part 1 so that I can watch It: Part 2 which means I didn’t get to watch a lot of new things this week (unless YouTube counts, because I have been loving Markiplier’s Man of Medan series- what a train wreck that game is!).

Unofficial Ratings

Explained

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Solid crash courses on things I didn’t know a lot (or anything) about – I’d love to see more!

iZombie: Season 5

Rating: 5 out of 5.

This show is such a guilty pleasure that I don’t even feel that guilty- it’s just a pleasure. Cringe factor at 9, however.

As Always, Please Check Out My Letterboxd! Happy Watching!
